For owners with a big quote · Remote · Independent

Quoted for a new Tesla battery pack? Get an independent second opinion first.

A pack replacement quote is one of the biggest bills a Tesla owner can face. Before you commit, get an independent remote read of what the car’s diagnostic data actually shows, documented with screenshots you can take back to the service center or another shop.

$199 flat · one price · no hourly billing

By paying you confirm: the car is (or will be) in your Tesla account; you’ll approve Tesla’s Toolbox email; the car will be online; you understand a remote read can fail or return stale data until the car wakes; refund only if we cannot connect at all. Terms & limitations

Independent — not Tesla, Inc. and not a Tesla-authorized partner.

What we look at

  • The HV-related alerts behind the quote, and whether they are active, historical, or tied to something else (for example the 12V system).
  • HV battery readings the car exposes: usable energy, state, isolation / contactor-related alerts where available.
  • The 12V / low-voltage side. Low-voltage problems can trigger alarming messages and are worth ruling out.
  • A written summary of what the data supports and what it doesn’t, plus questions to ask before approving the work.

What this is not

We don’t repair packs, sell parts, or take a referral fee from any shop. A remote read can’t replace physical testing when that’s needed. Sometimes the honest answer is “the data supports the quote”, and that’s worth knowing too.

Flat price

$199 flat for the remote read and written PDF. No hourly billing. If we can’t connect to the car, you pay $0.

Bring the quote (or a photo of it) and any messages you received. That helps us focus on the right systems.

What a remote read cannot tell you

  • Physical condition: body, paint, glass, tires, brakes, suspension wear, fluid leaks, or accident repair quality.
  • A guarantee of future battery life. We report what the car’s own data shows on the day of the read.
  • Anything Toolbox doesn’t expose for that model year or software version. If a data point isn’t available, the report says so.

How approval really works

  1. We send an official Toolbox owner-authorization request to the Tesla account email of the registered owner.
  2. The owner gets an email from Tesla (noreply-toolbox@teslamotors.com) and clicks the approval link in it. Check spam / promotions if it doesn’t show up within a few minutes.
  3. Access is read-only diagnostics for about 7 days, and the owner can revoke it at any time. The request itself expires if it isn’t approved in time.
  4. The car must be online and connected (Wi-Fi or cellular) while we read it. A car that is asleep with no connectivity, or has a dead 12V battery, can’t be read remotely.
  5. We never ask for Tesla passwords, PINs, or keys.

FAQ

Are you Tesla or a Tesla-authorized partner?

No. Remote Tesla Diag is independent and not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by Tesla, Inc.

Will you tell me the quote is wrong?

We’ll tell you what the data shows. Sometimes it supports the quote, sometimes it points to something else worth checking first. Either way you get the evidence in writing.

My car won’t wake up. Can you still read it?

Only if it can come online. A car with a dead 12V battery or no connectivity usually can’t be read remotely until that’s addressed.

Do I need to share my Tesla password?

Never. You approve access from Tesla’s own email.

Terms & limitations (please read before booking)

  • Car won’t wake, is offline, or has a dead 12V battery: we cannot read it remotely. If we can’t connect at all, you pay $0 — full refund.
  • Car parked for a long time: Tesla may give us an older saved snapshot instead of live data. When we can tell, the report labels each reading as current or stale. We may ask you to wake the car (open the Tesla app, turn on climate, or plug it in) and approve a fresh re-read.
  • What you need to do: the car must be in your (or the owner’s) Tesla account, you must approve Tesla’s Toolbox email, and the car must be online during the read.
  • Refunds: full refund only if we cannot connect at all. If we connect but some data is stale or limited, we report what we could read and clearly say what we couldn’t.

Small print: Remote Tesla Diag is an independent service — not Tesla, Inc. and not a Tesla-authorized partner. A remote read reports what the car’s own data shows at the time of the read; it is not a physical inspection or a guarantee of future condition or battery life. Remote diagnosis only — no repairs, parts, or towing.
